here is a sample of what i recieved on ;what is a red neck?

BETH SAID;

I believe that the true characteristics of the redneck is his ability to
Simplify everything.
To him, the life must be savored all its details...
In good conversation and long times spent with his friends..
In appreciation of nature, in love of his country, his taste is good food, and traditional foods,,
and he shows all feelings through music ...where he sings of beauty and love of his country,,
A redneck knows when it will rain or not ,,he knows the time by looking to the sun,
because he has kept his roots, and the city man has lost this ability already,
Redneck is a great example of love the land..

TERESA SAID:

Redneck Jokes come mostly from the comedic works of Jeff Foxworthy and by his definition it is a person with an incredible lack of sophistication. However historically it comes from the sun burned neck of the average working man. Farmer's, Construction worker's, Oil Driller's etc. Typically these types of people in the past have been simple minded uneducated people which is why they are the subject of many jokes.

BAREBACK SAID:

Farmers. When farmers work in the fields they get a lot of sun, and the neck line usually isn't covered from the sun causing this area to get red.
Isn't it interesting how many people hate farmers and think their ignora

TIFFANI SAID:

Umm. My family is full of rednecks, and we all poke fun at the term all the time. Mind you my mother is white and my father is black...so this is my mother's side.

I dont like labels, but it usually refers to southern white folks who just don't give a damn about much. They have simple lives, simple wants, and that just fine with them.

Tabacco chewing, flannel wearing, bass fishing, four wheel drivin, Toby Keith loving, Budweiser drinkin, truck hat loving.....down right southern people!!

NECKISHE SAID:
A low down trashy, white person. Trailer trash.

ZAGGY SAID:
The term origonally referred to the Irish immigrants that came to America during the great famine. Many wore red scarves around their necks. Now, the term stands for any old white trash hillbilly.
